A significant partnership between the National University of Technology (Nutech) and the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) is set to enhance education and employment prospects within Pakistan’s construction industry. The announcement was made by ABAD Chairperson Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi during a meeting with a Nutech delegation, led by Registrar Brig Dr. Syed Adnan Qasim, at the ABAD head office.
The key agenda of the meeting focused on ABAD’s sponsorship of Nutech's Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET) program in Civil Engineering, set to launch in Fall 2025. Plans were also discussed for the academic audit and evaluation of ongoing BET programs, as well as Nutech’s role in the development and implementation of a national policy for the construction industry.
One of the most significant aspects of the collaboration is ABAD’s commitment to supporting aspiring civil engineers. Bakhshi announced that ABAD would cover 50% of university fees for students enrolled in the BET Civil Engineering program at Nutech. In addition to the financial support, ABAD has pledged guaranteed job placements for graduates of the program. This initiative aims to nurture fresh talent in the construction sector and provide valuable career opportunities for students entering the field.
This partnership represents a crucial step in addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the construction industry and strengthening the ties between academia and the professional sector.
